With the coronavirus pandemic wreaking absolute havoc around the world, affecting us all in all sorts of new and interesting ways, couples who were planning on tying the knot in 2020 may well find that their plans have to be either postponed or cancelled entirely.
But there may well be an answer to your woes if you are determined to get married this year with family and friends in attendance – and that’s live streaming!
According to the BBC, one couple who had spent 18 months planning their wedding, due to be held in April, decided to stream their special day on Facebook, broadcasting to 100 guests after it became clear that their wedding was likely to be affected by coronavirus restrictions and the current lockdown situation.
Richard and Kirsten Groom took the plunge at got married at St Matthew’s Church in Walsall, overhauling the wedding preparations and getting the entire event ready to go in just four short days. Ms Groom’s housemates were the only attending guests, with the rest watching on Facebook.
Ms Groom said: “The people we have talked to so far have said they felt part of it, even from a distance, and we are really happy we were able to have that option available to them.”
