If you are looking for a custom sari this coming spring/summer season then you should consider bright yellow as your dominant colour.

This season’s bright yellow is a continuation of the pale yellow trend we saw last year, and it is being worn in a variety of ways.

First and foremost bright yellow is a power colour that is being seen on everything from fashion business owners through to politicians on television and in the Senate.

The use of the colour by politicians is an interesting one. All the politicians wearing this are obviously women, and are wearing it to deliberately juxtapose themselves with the sombre suited male politicians around them. Recent political movements have seen women wearing red when congregating in public spaces, to make themselves recognisable. Maybe this is shortly to be replaced with yellow?

Either way the messages are clear. Yellow goes well with neutral colours and make up, though bright red lips and nail varnish are strongly encouraged. See how celebrities (and some politicians) wore it:

To brighten up a neutral outfit: Victoria Beckham

Yes, admittedly she is selling her own wares, but a recent snap by Victoria Beckham on her own Instagram page had us all desperate of a pair of vibrant yellow high heels.

She teamed them, perhaps unusually with a neutral outfit of a white blouse and camel trousers. Showing them off alongside the entire range of vivid rainbow colours, Beckham knew that yellow was an astute choice this season, and has demonstrated how they can be word with a range of outfits.

The statement jumpsuit: Zoey Deutsch

At the recent Golden Globes Zoey Deutsch’s bright yellow jumpsuit with a plunge neckline and statement sleeves was hard to miss. The wide leg jump suit almost passed for a dress but was actually a pair a very wide legged palazzo pant jumpsuit.

Worn with simple makeup slicked back cropped hair and a single pendant, this outfit was careful to avoid making such a bold outfit look too complicated.

From the high street: Ashley Roberts

Appearing at a Heart radio gig with Amanda Holden, former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts stole the show with a mustard long-sleeved dress. Looking a million dollars the tabloids were quick to reveal that Roberts had in fact got the look for a mere £36 from high street brand, River Island.

This was another example of less is more, with the model choosing to pair the look with a simply styled coiffure and painted red nails. Makeup was neutral and natural toned.

On TV: Nancy Pelosi

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wore a glowing mustard sheath dress for her November appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

To meet the Queen: Melania Trump

First Lady Melania Trump wore bright yellow Valentino in the same shade when she visited Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace last November. Of course the Queen herself is partial to a bright colour having chosen lime green and buttercup yellow twin sets on repeat occasions.

To impeach Trump: Laura Dove

Secretary of the Majority Laura Dove’s lemon-yellow blazer ensured you could see her among the gammon at the first day of President Trump’s impeachment hearings.

This was a clever ruse. If you know the vast majority of people around you are going to be white men in sombre clothing, don’t even try to fit in. This is exactly what her clothing choice said and it is an inspiration to us all. Fashion is for politicians too!

Presenting bad weather news: Alex Holley

You wouldn’t have seen her in these parts by Good Day Philadelphia’s Alex Holley wore a long-sleeved yellow dress one of the coldest mornings so far this winter saying: “Sometimes you just have to provide your own sunshine.”

As a piece of underwear: Francesca Allen

Francesca Allen from Love Island was seen with this bright yellow bra under a sheer top.

She played peekaboo with photographers as the shocking top was hidden under a demure light coral coloured trouser suit, paired with black sheer tights and thin strappy heels.

On a bikini: Francesca Allen (again)

Allen also stunned with a bright yellow leopard print bikini shot from a Miss Pap photoshoot in Phuket, Thailand

Not trying to down-play anything she wore the look with bright red lipstick, a large straw hat and HD brows. And an excellent all over tan of course.

The Essex-business owner is keen to be seen in as many hot trends as possible as she owns her own boutique in Essex.
