walking events uk

If you’re looking for walking events in the UK this month (August), then you might want to check out the South Coast Challenge, taking place on August 31st.

This would be a lovely charity walk to go on (regardless of what the weather holds!), covering some of the most beautiful scenery that England has to offer, from Beachy Head to the Seven Sisters and then along the South Downs way to a mid-point in Brighton.

You’ll have an amazing time and enjoy some incredible views… and the best bit is that it’s suited to all abilities, whether you’re new to walking and endurance events or want to get a personal best on a long run.

It will take more than 24 hours for you to make your way to Arundel so do prepare for this as best you can. It certainly wouldn’t be advisable to just turn up on the day and give it a go, as you’re less likely to complete the walk so try and fit some long strolls in before the end of the month.

Of course, you don’t have to do it all so be realistic about what you can achieve, particularly because the path is quite a tough one with lots of ups and downs… so you really will be tested on the route.

Don’t forget to sign up to raise funds for a charity if you do decide you want to do it. The event is being sponsored by the British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, CLIC Sargent and Help for Heroes.
