The cold snaps and ever-changing winter weather can wreak havoc on your skin and the skin of your customers, as the cold dry air can leave your skin red with irritation.

This is compounded by central heating systems, radiators and fireplaces also draining the natural moisture from our skin.

Everyone’s skin is unique and has different needs to ensure it keeps looking soft, smooth and beautiful.

Whilst a skin rejuvenation course will build up your knowledge of non-surgical treatments, it is also important to advise people about skincare and how their surroundings can affect it.

Here are some tips for beautiful skin this winter.

Moisturise Very Often

After you wash up, be sure to moisturise your skin afterwards using a cream or ointment. This is especially important when washing your hands or using hand sanitiser, as frequent washing will remove the skin’s natural oils from your hands.

Ointments and creams are less irritating than lotions and so are much better for cold, dry weather.

Use A Humidifier

One solution is to ensure there is more moisture in the spaces you spend the most time in. Lower the temperature of your central heating system and buy a humidifier to add moisture to the air, reduce dryness and help your skin naturally stay hydrated.

Avoid Hot Showers

Hot water removes your skin’s natural oils and can ironically dry out your skin. The best way around this is to keep your baths and showers short, turn down the temperature and apply moisturiser whilst your skin is damp.
