Who doesn’t want perfect skin day in, day out? Establishing a good skincare routine with natural face products is a must if you want to keep your skin looking healthy and as clear as possible, but it’s worth remembering that as the seasons change, you might have to make a few adaptations to your routine here and there.

So, now that spring has finally sprung, here are a few tips to help you achieve a stunning rosy glow at this time of year.

Use a light cleanser

People typically wear less makeup at this time of year and there’s a serious trend for dewy skin at the moment, so heavy layers of foundation are out… which means you need your skin to look as naturally beautiful as it can. Light cleansers can really hydrate your skin while removing makeup… and without clogging your pores.

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate

This applies to all areas of your skin, not just your face. You’re sure to want to get your legs out as the weather warms up (and they’re now saying we’re in line for a three-month heatwave), so use an exfoliating mitt in the shower and make sure you apply your moisturiser when your skin is still damp for added hydration.

Use SPF

You’ve got to protect your skin as much as you can once the sun has started shining once again so make sure that your moisturiser or foundation as a good SPF in it. Failing that, put a little bit of sun cream in with your moisturiser so you know you’re being well looked after and can enjoy the sun safely.

Consider microdermabrasion

If you think you need a bit of extra exfoliation and really want to breathe new life into your skin, microdermabrasion is a wonderful way of achieving this. After just one session, you’ll notice how much smoother and clearer your skin is. A few repeat visits to the beauty salon and you’ll feel confident enough to go makeup-free.

Stay hydrated

Drinking enough water throughout the day is your skin’s best defence. Invest in a good water bottle that tells you how much you should be drinking each hour – it generally works out at about six sips an hour.

Eat your greens

Vitamin K should be part of your daily diet if you want to have lovely skin. You can find it in the likes of spinach, kale, chard and collard greens, so try and stock your fridge with this in mind. If you’re not a big fan of eating your greens, try and drink them instead!

A very tasty green juice recipe includes a pear, two green apples, two handfuls of spinach, a handful of ice, half a cucumber and two celery stalks. Juice it all up and away you go!

Vitamin K is great for reducing redness and swelling, while also allowing your skin to stay hydrated for longer, so perfect for use all year round.
