A Shoreditch based restaurant is giving back to the community in a unique way by giving a hundred vegan triple cheeseburgers away for free as well as donating to charity for every free burger eaten.
Halo Burger, a Shoreditch-based vegan restaurant, along with giving away the burgers as part of a thank you to the community for supporting the restaurant during an exceptionally difficult period for the industry, is also donating £2.39 per burger they give out to Hackney Foodbank, a local charity that has become instrumental in helping those struggling during the pandemic.
The amount per burger is a symbolic reference, according to Time Out London to the nationwide rollout by fast-food giant McDonalds of their own triple cheeseburger.
In doing so, they are not only offering hungry locals a vegan alternative to the popular item featuring three Beyond Meat patties and three slices of vegan cheese, they are giving the equivalent of a triple cheeseburger to a good cause, for a total of £239.
To people living and working in commercial properties near Shoreditch, they will need to hurry to be a part of this giveaway. Halo will start gifting burgers at noon on Tuesday, 8th September and it will be first-come, first-serve until they give away all 100 of the meatless wonders.
With so many exciting and unique things happening on the City Fringe of London, this giveaway is yet more proof of the amazing charitable spirit and moral compass of Shoreditch.
