Mortgage guidance service Bankrate UK entered the ten biggest interior styles into the property search facility on Zoopla and calculated average house prices in England for each style… and the results are certainly quite illuminating!
For properties decorated in a Scandinavian style, for example, the average listed price for such a property was found to be £572,079. But for a traditional aesthetic at home, the average listed price was £347,098. The average listed price for vintage interior design was £505,828, while for a farmhouse look and feel it was £521,398.
You would also be wise to pay close attention to your outdoor spaces, as recent research has found that by doing up your garden you could add an impressive £46,552 to the value of your home – and with more people now keen to move somewhere with outside areas, as a result of the pandemic, you could be in a good position to sell for the right price.
